What
is Argus?
The
project Argus leads the creation of a web space about any type of
oral sung improvisation. It wants to be a place of meeting to interchange
information and for creating a stable relation between those that
in any way are linked to the complex world of the improvisation.
The
project Argus is about a data base that will compile information
about any event, congress or performance that is related to improvisation:
researches, studies, summaries or any other type of document written
by experts or improvisers, or any other information about institutions
that organize any type of meeting related to the oral sung improvisation.
The
project has been presented as a future proposition during the congress
organized by the Association of Friends of Bertsolarism Ahozko
Inprobisazioa Munduan (Intercultural
Meetings about Oral Improvisation in the World) in the autumn
2003. It is a first trial to face future projects, beside being
an excelent investigation way on the current situation of the oral
improvisation.
This
presentation is just a slow beginning; provided that Argus appears
as a wide project with no limits, we will complete it by adding
information little by little. Nevertheless, the participation of
all those persons who are interested in the oral sung improvisation
is absolutely necessary, as far as the constant provision of information
or the advices and suggestions that will help us improve the system.
Now,
this is just a sample with so few information that lets us see what
will be the technological base of the project. Even this way, Argus
wants to be the beginning of a long debate about this project.
